I’m going nuts.
I’ve never been one who is organized, but one of my big, BIG goals this year is to have everything o.r.g.a.n.i.z.e.d. I’ve never needed it more than today, because I’m running around trying to find the flight info I printed and put in a “safe” place. I discovered that I left my phone at Panera Bread…
Sunday night.
I spent all day yesterday looking for it.
Why, oh why, didn’t my Mom’s organization genes pass on to me?
Why?
I’m bound and determined to conquer this state of disorganization. Even if I have to fly Alex Fayle out to Chicago. Speaking of Alex, check out the interview that he did with me recently:
Learning to Ask for Help: Karen Putz Interview
You’ll also have to go over to TechMama’s blog and check out: Looking for People Friendly Media Technology.
And then go hop over to Amy Derby’s place for a captioned video: Conversations with Strangers.
I’m signing off and dismantling my computer to make way for a new desk. I’m tossing out the folding table.
It’s a start.

Hi Karen,
I loved your interview, Asking for Help!
And boy I don’t know how many times I put something in a “safe” place and then I cant remember where I put it! Drives me crazy!
Have a great trip!
Sue
I feel ya… I wish I had MY mom’s genes as well!
I tried so hard once to wash the dishes EVERY night (I don’t have a dishwasher) and it lasted 5 months!
Then one night, I thought , “I need a break this once”… and guess what? I’m now back to square one…!!
S I G HHHHH
Karen, have a safe trip! Good for you for tackling a BIG goal this year! Organizing takes a little time each day (to get and stay that way) but you can do it!

Oh yay! Real desk! Woo hoo!
(Of course I say this as a die-hard laptop user who hates sitting at a desk).

Too funny Karen! And here I thought I was the only one with this frustration! I am CONSTANTLY putting things in a good “safe” spot and then forgetting where that “Safe” spot is! LOL Sometimes I actually put things away where they belong and forget I was that organized and run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to find it! Frustrating and embarassing!
Want to know a funny story? I thought I left my water shoes at the gym because I did not see them buried in the deep recesses of my awesome new gym bag pocket. So I kept going to the front desk each day and asking if someone turned them in. Finally I got so desperate that I went through EVERY open locker in the locker room to see if someone shoved found them and shoved them in one. I think the other ladies thought I was nuts and gave me strange looks.
After I checked every locker to no avail, I found the dang shoes in the bottom of my bag under a mask that was covering them! This is a case where the shoes were exactly where they belonged! I just did not look hard enough. Boy did I feel like a tool!
